More than 1.9 Million migrants illegally crossing the southwest border with Mexico were apprehended by Border Patrol agents between 2021 ports of entry. Other half-million migrants were able to escape arrest and sneak into America, according to estimates.

According to unofficial data, Border Patrol agents in the nine southwest border areas apprehended around 1,929,000 illegally crossing migrants between ports of entry in 2021. According to official U.S. Customs and Border Protection reports, 1,773,674 migrants were apprehended by agents in the first eleven months of 2018. Breitbart Texas was told by a source working under CBP that agents had apprehended around 156,000 migrants in December so far.

Officials also disclosed to Breitbart that at least 428,000 migrants were reported to be “got aways” by Border Patrol officials. Agency leaders have easy access to the data because it is entered into a system that records everything. DHS does not usually release the metric. This estimate is made by counting migrants who are eventually able to escape from apprehension after they have been viewed by cameras and aircraft. Agents can also identify footprints using traditional sign-cutting methods.

Breitbart was previously informed by agents that the number of get-away cases is likely to be higher this year due to the continuous flow of migrants crossing the southern border. This hinders the agency’s ability to patrol the miles. Because there are not enough Border Patrol agents available to respond to electronic sensors, camera activations, and unmanned aerial surveillance sightings, the number of got-away people is increasing.

When you add up the illegal crossings of the border between entry ports, almost 2.4 million migrants crossed it this year.
