PEOPLE reports Anne Heche, an actress, and mother to two children has died from injuries sustained in Friday’s horrific car accident. She was 53 years old.
This was emphasized in the initial report:
Heche is most famous for being the first Mrs. Ellen DeGeneres to crash into a Mar Vista house on Friday and set it on fire.

Anne Heche was involved in a fiery car crash on Friday. She was left “severely burned” and “intubated” at a hospital, TMZ reports.
The 53-year-old actress from “Vanished” was driving her Mini Cooper down Los Angeles’ suburban street at noon when it collided with a garage of an apartment building.
Witnesses tried to help Heche get out of her car, but she drove away and then backed up to hit another house, where her car was “engulfed by flames”.
Heche may have been drinking alcohol. A bottle with a red cap found in the cup holder was discovered shortly before the accident.
Fox News reported that the fire was extinguished by 59 firefighters in 65 minutes. Her tortoise, dogs, and husband barely survived.
Heche was a major news story when she began dating Ellen DeGeneres in the late nineties. Coley Laffoon was her second husband, and together they have a son, Homer. Homer is now twenty-one. She later married Coley Laffoon, a cameraman with whom she has a son, Atlas.
Heche, a proud mother of her sons, posted the following about her boys on Mother’s Day. Below is a photo with Homer, Atlas, and her arms around them.

Heche wrote a memoir titled “Call Me Crazy” during her marriage to Laffoon. According to PEOPLE, it detailed her struggle with mental illness.
Heche’s memoir details that Heche was suffering from mental illness for 31 years. Heche claims that her father sexual abuse caused it.
ABCNEWS.com reports that Heche called herself “insane.” ABCNEWS.com reports that Heche claimed she believed she was two people at a time during a session of ABC’s Twenty-Four. Anne Heche was one and Celestia the other. Celestia was from another world and communicated with God directly in a different language. Heche claims that the present is “I am here.” “I could not be happier with my existence. ”
Heche was also an outstanding actor in the role of Katherine Brennan, Deputy Superintendent of Chicago P.D. Shechem was also a stellar actor in the role of Katherine Brennan, Deputy Superintendent of Chicago P.D. This is something I noticed in many Heche roles, including Vicky/Marley in the early days on “Another World.” It is possible that she was not acting based on her past.
Cedar Rapids is her favorite dark comedy. Heche was Joan Ostrowski-Fox (“O-Fox”) opposite Ed Helms John C. Reilly, and Isiah Wilock Jr. in a film I highly recommend.
We only hope that Heche is now at peace, despite all the tragedy surrounding her death.
