At Least 1 Dead and 3 Injured in Atlanta Active Shooter Incident


Authorities said that a suspected gunman is still on the loose after a shooting incident inside an Atlanta building resulting in at least one death and three injured.

Atlanta Police Department reported that the shooting took place around 12:15 in a building located on West Peachtree Street, between 12th Street and 13th Street.

The police said that they were aware of “multiple injuries” and then updated to say that three people had been rushed to hospital for treatment, while the fourth person was declared dead on the scene.

There were no immediate details on the injuries of any of the victims.

A suspect was not in custody. The police released images of the suspect shooter, saying he was believed to be armed.

The department tweeted that “there have been no further shots fired since this initial incident.”

As the search for a suspect continued, multiple police vehicles and emergency vehicles were present.

Police asked citizens to leave the area and secure their buildings.

Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens stated that he was in close contact with the police and encouraged those in the region to shelter in place.
