Sometimes, the question arises of how I and other Californians who contribute to these pages manage to remain in this rather grimy Golden State. There are two ways to answer this question. This is our home, a place we are proud to defend despite seemingly never-ending odds. Washington DC is the only place on Earth that has such an abundance of ready-made material. Hollywood is the entertainment capital of the world, but it’s easy to find multiple sources for the material in steady streams.

California Lieutenant Governor Eleni Kunalakis, a Democrat, has just released a hilarious comedy routine. It was a bit too outrageous for standards by the network, MSNBC. From Breitbart:

California Lieutenant Governor. (D. Eleni Kounalakis) stated that people should be prepared to “live in defiance” of six people who believe they have the right “to tell you what your body can do.” They can’t tell millions of American women what they should do with their bodies.

So, making abortion a state-level matter is telling women what they should do with their bodies. Ahhhhhhhkay. This could be argued to sidestep the entire issue of unborn children’s rights regarding not being cut into pieces. But that is another debate.

Her odd dismissal of Clarance Thomas, Supreme Court justice, stands out above Kounalakis’s open advocation to defying the law. Anyone who has taken a look at the southern border will know that she is a Democrat. It is racist. It is not racist, but it is fascinating.

Clarence Thomas: Who are you? Is he going to tell me how I can live with my body and my life in Saudi Arabia? Kounalakis stated that this is what it all boils down to.

Imagine, if you will, a Republican lieutenant- governor making this comment and substituting Thomas for Sonia Sotomayor and a Mexican mother for a Saudi Arabian father. It would cause a media panic that was immediate and pervasive. Kounalakis could denigrate a minority, two in fact, by making a reference to a conservative practicing Muslim father and referencing Saudi Arabian — and receive zero backlashes. It must be pleasant.

MSNBC’s Katy Tur is to be credited for offering some modest pushback to Kounalakis’ defiance call.

Tur later asked Tur, “I understand where your coming from, and where you believe that you are coming from.” Are you concerned about the message that this sends to anyone else that the Supreme Court may rule on? Some might be in agreement with it, while others might not?

Kounalakis replied with more drivel about the God-given rights of women regarding their bodies. This reveals that she doesn’t know what God has to say about this matter.

Ah, California. It’s never boring around here.
