Chicago Women Accused of Beating Off-Duty Cop, Taking Gun

After an off-duty officer was attacked in Chicago’s Boystown on Friday, several women were reportedly facing charges.

A Saturday CWB Chicago article stated that four women punched the 58 year-old victim in the face and body in 3700 block North Broadway at 2:50 a.m. According to prosecutors, the victim’s silver revolver was dropped to the ground and one of the women grabbed it and ran.

Chicago police quickly arrested four suspects in West Waveland’s 900 block. A spokesperson for the department noted that the victim’s gun was found under a car in the 800 block.

According to Chicago police, “Sophia Ewing 21, Brianna Tidwell, 30, Pressha Fountain 32, and Lavivian Harms, 30 were charged with misdemeanor burglary and misdemeanor battery.” The outlet also stated that Harris was charged with felony possession.

According to a report, a July incident in Chicago saw a woman being held hostage at gunpoint. It was later discovered that she was an off-duty officer.

The suspect approached her from the 1500 block in South Wabash. She was just about to get out of her car when she noticed him. She was about to get out of her car when the suspect approached from behind in the 1500 block of South Wabash. He reportedly demanded that she give him the keys.

After she agreed, the suspect drove her car southbound. The suspect was described by her as a black man, approximately five feet tall, with medium-length dreadlocks.

According to the CWB Chicago article, although authorities didn’t note the agency that employed the off-duty officer, they did state that he had a swelling lip.

In Chicago, Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s (D), crime-ridden Chicago, at least 48 people were shot and five of them died.

19 people were shot in the Friday and Saturday nights alone. Two of those victims died from their injuries Monday.
