The far-left Rep. Cori Buss spent thousands last year to secure her private security, but she continues to support the “Defund the Police” movement. Saturday’s tweet by the congresswoman stated that the people who keep telling us to cut funding for police and invest in our communities will not work.

Bush’s tweet follows a comment made by Joe Biden on Thursday in which he criticized the “Defund the Police” movement and blamed guns. This is a marked departure from his campaign when he said that he supports reallocating resources for police. This is also known to be defunding police.

Voters of all stripes found the movement “Defund the Police”, even those who consider themselves to be “progressives” or far-left, to be wildly unpopular. Democrat politicians began denouncing this movement, pointing to the fact that it is a result of anti-police rhetoric and defunding. The disapproval of Biden’s handling of crime in America grew as voters became more aware of the staffing shortfalls and the resulting disapproval. Only 36% of those surveyed praised Biden’s ability to manage the situation.

Bush’s call to defund the police department comes at a moment when many large cities are dealing with rising crime and violence.

The National Republican Congressional Committee, (NRCC) “doubled down” on Bush. The NRCC condemned Bush’s attempts to dodge responsibility for supporting far-left “reform” policies.
