I switched from a Mac computer to a PC. I wanted to save money on a new computer because my Mac was 7 years old. Since most of my apps are subscriptions, I didn’t have to spend much money on them.
Why am I telling this to you? Microsoft’s Edge browser is burying me in clickbait articles and garbage ads. Edge is constantly bombarded with reminders, and headlines are displayed from CNN and MSNBC. One of them informed me that troops in the Northwest were ready to respond to riots in an election. I clicked — not to read for substance but to see how long it took for CNN to connect the inevitable “election interference/violence” headline to Trump. It was there, it took a little longer than usual.
The headline said: “National Guard soldiers on standby for possible election unrest in Washington, Oregon, and Nevada.”
The lede seemed serious:
Officials say that the National Guard has been placed on alert in order to prevent civil unrest during Tuesday’s presidential elections. This includes Washington State and Oregon where hundreds of ballots have been damaged or destroyed following recent fires at three ballot boxes.
Goodness. Many states. CNN, where, what, how, and when? In the end, there were three boxes. All three boxes were located in Portland, Oregon, Vancouver, and Washington. These two cities may be in different states, but to locals, they are the same city. My ex-sister-in-law told me that she was “from Portland.” Their home was located in Vancouver.
The “news,” as it was called, stated that a nut set fire to 3 boxes. Portland is a leftist city that the red part of Oregon hates. The implication was the perp could be Donald Trump or Don Jr. but a MAGA-hat-wearing, bleach bottle-carrying guy, possibly two of them yelling, “This is MAGA Country!”
Okay, it might not be them, but surely, it must be Republicans. Washington and Oregon’s Democrat governors have placed the troops on alert. CNN reports that 60 troops are on standby in Nevada.
Washington D.C. police officers are working 12-hour shifts to prepare for the election and any potential violence. Who is responsible for the violence? It was Trump.
Police chiefs in the United States have made unprecedented plans to ensure the security of Election Day and the following weeks. Since the insurrection that occurred at the US Capitol on January 6, 2021, and delayed the certification of the previous presidential election, the issue has become urgent for law enforcement.
Washington, D.C. was awash with political violence on the day of the 2017 inauguration. Leftists burned cars and injured people. Over 200 people were arrested. I am not aware of any who spent many years in solitary confinement.
Protests against Trump also erupted in US cities on Friday, including New York City, Seattle, Dallas, and Chicago. Seattle authorities say a person with a gunshot injury is in critical condition in a hospital. Demonstrations were also held overseas in Hong Kong Berlin and London.
Newsham, a CNN correspondent in Washington, told CNN that the hundreds of demonstrators who confronted the police on Inauguration Day and the Women’s March were outnumbered by thousands of nonviolent activists who flooded the nation’s capitol for Saturday’s Women’s March on Washington.
CNN’s reporter tweeted — “actions by a few,” reminiscent of “mostly peaceful demonstrations” while cities burned.
The left is very forgetful when it comes to its political violence and its refusal to accept election results. Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-MD, has refused to confirm a Trump victory. He has recently added more fuel to his stupidity.
Will there be bloodshed if Trump wins the election? Undoubtedly. On election day, and in the days following, there will be rioters who organize and turn out. In 2017, we saw riots, and this was before Joe Biden or Kamala Harris called Trump a Nazi and a threat against democracy. Trump’s inauguration in 2025 will be a major flashpoint. In my opinion, riots in 2017 will pale in comparison with the riots in 2024/2025.
Buckle up. The nation will need more than 60 troops.
