Elon Musk, the renowned tech entrepreneur and former head of President Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency, has been making waves on social media with posts related to the recent “No Kings” protests.
Over the weekend, demonstrators from across the nation assembled in public spaces to voice their opposition to President Trump. These protests were characterized by anti-authoritarian sentiments, support for immigrants, and calls for democratic preservation.
It was shortly after midnight on Monday when Musk posted an image from the video game BioShock, accompanied by the phrase “No Gods or Kings. Only Man”. According to reliable sources, this quote is attributed to one of the game’s antagonistic characters, Andrew Ryan.

Reports indicate that later that same day, Musk further added to his post with the comment “Great game”, followed by an emoticon expressing amusement. Immediately following this, Musk once again used the phrase “No gods or kings, only men”, this time accompanied by a video capturing a SpaceX Starlink rocket booster.
This raises important questions about Musk’s intentions behind these posts. Whether they are meant as a critique or endorsement of the “No Kings” protests is unclear. What is clear, however, is that these posts have sparked a flurry of speculation and debate across social media platforms.

Musk’s recent history on social media has been contentious. He previously engaged in a public dispute with President Trump over a legislative bill and made explosive claims regarding the Department of Justice and the unreleased files related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Musk has since expressed regret for these posts, describing them as having gone “too far”.
According to President Trump, Musk, whom he refers to as a “friend” and “first buddy”, became “strange” following his departure from the administration. The background to this situation is important as it provides context to the ongoing relationship between these two high-profile figures.
