The Associated Press reported that Chinese President Xi Jinping urged Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Mahbouly, who was visiting Beijing on Thursday, to open a humanitarian route for civilians fleeing Gaza’s war.

According to the AP, Xi reiterated China’s support for the creation of a Palestinian State as a solution to the violence.

The State Department reported that U.S. Secretary Antony Blinken spoke with his Chinese counterpart last week, and asked Beijing to use its influence to stop other states or non-states from joining in the conflict between Israel and Hamas.

Blinken met with Foreign Affairs Minister Wang Yi on his Middle East tour, where he also met with officials from Arab countries to rally support for Israel in its war against Hamas. The Biden administration fears that Hezbollah terrorists in Lebanon may attack Israel and start a two-front conflict. They are working to prevent this.

Iran, which supports Hezbollah, called Israel’s bombardment of Gaza a “crime” and warned Muslims and other resistance groups would join in the fight if Israel did not stop firing.

“If the crimes continue, Muslims will be impatient, resistance forces will be impatient, and nobody will be able to prevent them,” Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said Tuesday. “Bombardments should be immediately stopped, Muslim nations are angry.”
