This week, police arrested Irish teacher Enoch BURGAN for the third time after he criticized his school for promoting transgender ideologies two years earlier.

Burke was arrested by the Irish National Police An Garda Siochana on Monday outside Wilson’s Hospital School, County Westmeath. He had previously taught history and German at this school. Burke was then transported to Mountjoy Prison in Dublin.

Burke’s X, run by Josiah Burke, posted a video of the arrest.

Enoch Burke is heard in the video saying “I won’t turn my back on students” as he is placed into the back of the police vehicle.

He said: “I have a legal right to work. I have a right to be here and not to tell students they need to take puberty blockers.”

Burke was also heard criticizing his arresting officers, telling them “You don’t owe it to yourself to do wrong.”

Newsweek reported that a judge had ruled Burke be sent back to Mountjoy Prison for violating the court order not to return to the campus after the start of the school year last month. Burke was reportedly told by the judge that he could be freed if he agreed to follow the court order going forward, but a definitive answer from Burke wasn’t forthcoming.

According to The Irish Times, Burke’s case will be reviewed once again on October 11. He will stay at Mountjoy Prison until then.

Newsweek reports that Burke was fired in September 2022 for publicly refusing to address a transgender person by their preferred pronouns and name. He was jailed later for “contempt” of court after violating an order from the High Court to stay away during his disciplinary hearing.

Burke claimed that he couldn’t “in conscience” obey the order. He was sent to Mountjoy Prison, where he remained until December 2022.

Newsweek reported that he had violated the court’s order again in September 2023. This led to his second arrest and imprisonment. In June, during the summer break, a judge ordered his release.
