As President Joe Biden enters his second year as President, his approval rating continues to plummet. A plurality of voters believes he has handled Chinese coronavirus worse than former President Donald Trump. This is according to a Redfield & Wilton Strategies poll released this week.
According to the survey, Biden’s approval of his job performance has continued to decline over the past month. 44% disapprove of Biden’s job performance while 39% approve. This is a drop of two points from the Redfield & Wilton Strategies December survey’s 41 percent who praised his job performance. 32% of those surveyed “strongly disapprove” of his job performance, while only 14% approve.
Respondents were also asked to rate how satisfied or dissatisfied they are with the Biden administration’s handling key issues, such as the coronavirus pandemic and the economy.
These were the results:
Coronavirus Pandemic: 41 percent approve, 40 percent disapprove
The Economy: 35% approve, 44% disapprove
Healthcare: 33 percent approve, 37 percent disapprove
Environment: 36% approve, 33% disapprove
Crime/Policing: 31 percent approve, 40 percent disapprove
Immigration: 30 percent approve, 44 percent disapprove
Relations with China: 38% approve, 38% disapprove
The survey also found that 46% of respondents believed Joe Biden handled the economy, immigration (44%), national defense and defense (41%), as well as foreign policy (41%), worse than Donald Trump.
It added that “By contrast, a plurality (40%) finds Biden has handled his environment better than his predecessor,” while Americans are split on whether Biden managed the pandemic better (40%) or worse (39%) than Trump.”
The survey was conducted among 1,500 American voters between January 8-9, 2022.
