A bombshell has dropped.
Miss Universe contestant Italy Mora was kicked out for allegedly entering her boyfriend’s bedroom without permission.
The delegate, who was 19 years old, was to represent Panama in the competition. The competition will take place on Saturday, 16 November in Mexico City. It features 130 competitors from around the globe.
According to local media, Mora’s hopes of competing in Miss Universe were dashed when the Miss Universe Organization announced that she would not be participating in the competition.
The pageant powers-that-be said she had been subjected to an “exhaustive evaluation by our disciplinary commission” over the purported “personal error,” but neglected to specify the exact reason for her departure.
Jam Press reported rumors that Mora was staying at a hotel in Mexico and had joined Juan Abadia without permission from the organizers.
The Panamian contestant responded to the allegations. She claimed her expulsion resulted from a heated argument with Miss Universe Panama director Cesar A. Rodrguez.
She claimed to have gotten into a heated argument with the boss of the pageant over the lack of organization at the event.
Abadia, who was present during the fight to help Mora obtain the services that the organization didn’t provide, said he was at the scene to assist Mora.
According to her businessman boyfriend, these included food, lodging, and clothing. One dress, worth $7,000, was made by Carolina Herrera.
Jam Press reported that after pageant staffers observed her with Abadia the situation did not improve. They claimed that she entered his room without permission.
Mora stated, “There’s a lot of rumors which need to be clarified as they are damaging my reputation and emotionally hard. If I weren’t with my partner I would be struggling even more. “
Mora tried to convince officials of the pageant to reverse the decision but they refused. Mora eventually agreed to “take responsibility for my actions and accept the consequence.”
Miss Universe representatives stated in response to the dismissal of their colleague.
“It is important to note that we made this decision with the utmost respect for all parties involved,” they wrote. “Our No. 1 priority remains the welfare and transparency for all of our candidates, who exemplify diversity, talent, and dedication.”
The organization is still looking for a representative to represent them at the next event.
