The New York Times accuses Republican governors of “causing havoc” in busing border crossingers to Democrat sanctuary towns. As Texas Governor. Greg Abbott (R), and Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey (R), Arizona Governor.

The Times reports:

The governors of Arizona and Texas are using a political tactic to reduce the impact of record-breaking levels of immigration at the border. Washington is feeling the pinch as undocumented migrants arrive on free buses each week, increasing the capital’s inability to provide housing and emergency food.

The migrants, who have no family or money, are overtaking immigrant nonprofits. Many end up homeless shelters, or sitting on benches. On a recent morning, five buses arrived and poured young families and men with no other option into the streets around the Capitol.

Washington has 15 faith- and community-based organizations that have opened their doors to migrants. They offer them food, shelter, and hygiene products during daylight hours. However, the increased frequency of buses (from two to four per day to sometimes eight), has reduced donations and exceeded capacity. Many volunteers have contracted Covid-19, Ms. Scherff said.

New York City’s Port Authority is where migrant buses from Texas are now arriving. On Friday, one bus was full of mostly single men who had no connection to the United States.

The amount of illegal aliens and border crossers that sanctuary jurisdictions such as Washington, D.C., and New York City have had the to handle pales in comparison with the level experienced by American border communities.

For example, Abbott has sent more than 6,200 border crossings and illegal aliens to Washington, D.C. since April. Ducey, meanwhile, has sent approximately 1,000 since May. This figure is roughly 7.200 compared to the 7,100 illegal aliens and border crossers who have inundated American border communities for months due to Biden’s Catch and Release program.

This operation transformed the U.S.-Mexico Border into a checkpoint for border crossingers and illegal aliens. They are then apprehended and briefly detained before being sent on their journey with work permits and sometimes cellphones into American communities.

The Biden administration will soon offer government-issued identification cards to allow foreign nationals to travel more freely throughout the U.S. interior, and to access public benefits.

Between February 2021 and May 2022, more than a million illegal aliens and border crossers were released by the Biden administration into the U.S. interior. The Biden administration has not yet revealed how many were released between June and July.
