Video shows a beachgoer getting caught in an waterspout that was landing in Florida.
The video shows the waterspout at Hollywood Beach dissipating just as it is coming to land. However, not before it temporarily trapped a person and appeared to make them drop.
The National Weather Service (NWS) in Miami-South Florida issued a tornado warning in Broward County on Friday morning. According to the NWS, the waterspout reached the shore at 12:45 pm and then dissipated a few feet inland.
The NWS tweeted that “additional waterspouts could be possible today, as the weather remains favorable.”
One witness told NBC: “I haven’t seen anything like that since I’ve been here in 1986.” “I’ve never seen anything like that in my life.”
“That was incredible. It was the first time I saw anything like it. Laurie Mensing from Minnesota told NBC that it was coming in. When it reached the sand the sand began to move. It was all fine. “It was cool.”
According to the Miami Herald, no injuries or damage had been reported by Friday afternoon.
