In a press release, his family expressed their deep sadness at the news of Carl Weathers’s death. “He passed away peacefully while sleeping on Thursday, 1st February 2024. Carl was a remarkable human being with an extraordinary life. He has made an indelible impact on film, television, and the arts, and his contribution is known worldwide. He was a beloved father, grandfather partner, and friend.
Weathers played Apollo Creed for the first four films in the series.
He also appeared opposite Adam Sandler and Arnold Schwarzenegger, in “Happy Gilmore”
