In a Wednesday court filing, Sean “Diddy Combs” accused federal agents and prosecutors of an unlawful leak.

Combs was held without bail following his arrest and charges last month for sex trafficking by force. He also faces charges of prostitution, transportation, and racketeering.

The defense filed a document claiming that leaks had led to “damaging, highly prejudicial publicity” before the trial. This could only affect the jury pool, and rob Mr. Combs of his right to a fair trial.

Combs’ lawyers aimed Homeland Security for the searches at his home and at prosecutors about a video from 2016 showing Combs attacking then-girlfriend Casandra Ventura.

CNN obtained the video in May, and Combs apologized to the camera for the actions he took in it.

In their indictment, prosecutors cited the video to claim that Combs had tried to bribe a hotel worker who intervened with “a stack of cash” to keep the incident quiet.

The defense requested an investigation of the evidence and a hearing. The prosecution has not responded immediately to this request.

Combs, in a letter he sent to the judge on Wednesday as part of a separate filing, said that he wanted to be tried this spring for charges including racketeering, forced sex, and prostitution.

In a letter sent to the judge before Combs’ court appearance on Thursday, Marc Agnifilo & Teny Geragos stated that “Mr. Combs is continuing to assert his right for a speedy hearing and will request a date of trial in April or May 2025 and per the Court’s schedule.”

Prosecutors took no position.

The Court has the discretion to determine a trial date, either at the beginning of the case or later.

Combs has pleaded innocent and is currently being held in jail without bail. His attorneys want to see the case move forward quickly.

Agnifilo told a previous court that “the government has arrested him and wants him to be detained. We’ll have to do all we can to get this case moving,” during an earlier appearance.

Combs has also been charged with criminal offenses. He is facing civil suits from several alleged victims.
