Divimara Lamar Nava, the wife of Francisco Oropeza, a man suspected of killing five of his neighbors in Texas, was arrested on May 3 for allegedly helping him avoid capture for four days. Oropeza was finally apprehended on May 1 after being found hiding in a pile of laundry in a closet.

The suspect started shooting on his property after his neighbors asked him to move away from the baby because of the gunfire. The victims have been identified as Diana Velazquez Alvarado (21), Julisa Molina Rio (31), Jose Jonathan Casarez (18), Sonia Argentina Guzman (25), and Daniel Enrique Laso (9). All of the victims are from Honduras.

The Associated Press reported that:

Lamar Nava, a felon who has been convicted of felony charges of hindering apprehension and prosecution of a known criminal, was arrested on Wednesday morning. Online jail records show that he was held at the Montgomery County Jail. She was arrested at her home in Conroe by state police, according to the records.

San Jacinto County district attorney Todd Dillon also said that Domingo Castilla was arrested on Tuesday in the same neighborhood as the shooting. Castilla, who was arrested for marijuana possession, is expected to be charged with additional crimes including hindering Oropeza’s arrest, Dillon said.

The U.S. The US Border Patrol, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and the US Marshals BORTAC team all played a role in the capture of the suspect.

The four-day search ended on Tuesday when the authorities received a tip that led them to the house where they found Oropeza. The authorities discovered Oropeza under a laundry pile in the house’s closet.

Tim Kean, chief deputy of the San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office in Coldspring, made a statement at a press conference held the day after the suspect’s discovery. Kean confirmed on Monday that authorities had seen Oropeza running in Montgomery County. This led to the closure of several schools. Kean said that it was not a false alert and that Oropeza was seen running on foot by the authorities, but they lost track of him. Kean made his statement outside of the county jail.

Oropeza, a Mexican citizen, has been deported 4 times between 2009 and 2016. This fact is not acknowledged by the Democrats or activist media.
