Our beloved President Donald J. Trump is signing yet another executive order this week. This time, he’s extending the deadline for TikTok’s Chinese overlords to divest from the app. Yes, you heard it right – he’s giving them more time to hand over the reins to good ol’ American owners.
Trump already signed an order earlier this year to keep TikTok running for an additional 75 days. Why? Let me tell you, it’s not because he loves dancing teenagers. It’s because he wants to ensure the continued operation of TikTok under American ownership, protecting our data from the grasping hands of the Chinese Communist Party.
Trump has said, time and time again, that he doesn’t want TikTok to go dark. He’s not out to ruin your fun. No, he’s out to protect you. And this new extension? It lasts for 90 days. That’s three whole months the Administration will spend working tirelessly to ensure this deal is closed and that the American people can use TikTok safely and securely.
This is the third time Trump has extended the deadline. The first time was on his first day in office, folks. And the second? Right after, the White House thought they had a deal to spin off TikTok into a new, American-owned company. But guess what? The Chinese backed out after Trump’s tariff announcement.
Last but not least, Trump thinks that Chinese President Xi Jinping will “ultimately approve” a deal to divest TikTok’s business in the United States. And that, my friends, is exactly what we’ve been saying all along – Trump knows how to play this game, and he plays it to WIN.
