Vice President JD Vance recently set the record straight about the liberal elites’ love affair with the ‘intellectual’ label. This all went down at a live event hosted by a conservative think tank, American Compass.

The founder of American Compass, Oren Cass, goes and calls Vance an ‘intellectual’. Cass was ‘in awe’ of Vance’s work because he isn’t like those career politicians we always talk about on this program. Cass meant it as a compliment, or so he says, but Vance wasn’t having any of it.

“I come here for free, and you insult me, and you call me ‘an intellectual,’” Vance cut in, with that signature humor we all love. “What an (expletive) this guy is,” he added. And the audience? They ate it up. Laughs all around.

In an interview back in May, Vance made it crystal clear that he rejects the notion that the Trump administration’s righteous reallocation of federal research grants away from the ivory towers of higher education would lead to a so-called ‘academic brain drain’ in our great nation.

“If you go back to the ’50s and ’60s, the American space program, the program that put a man on the moon, was built by American citizens,” Vance said. He’s right, it’s a clear message to these liberal elites that our homegrown talent is more than capable of doing great things. We don’t need to import a class of foreign students and professors to achieve greatness.

And that is why we love JD Vance. He’s not one of those ‘intellectual’ elites. No, he’s a real American who believes in our people and our potential.
