Sen. Josh Hawley, R-MO, sent a memo to Secret Service officials on Tuesday stating that a whistleblower claims the agency hides information about Donald Trump’s protection and that despite two attempted assassinations he is still not receiving maximum protection.
Senator said the whistleblower’s message directly contradicted the official message from the government.
In a letter addressed to USSS Director Ronald Rowe, and DHS Inspector-General Joseph Cuffari, a whistleblower claims that government auditors have been denied access to some Trump campaign events to conceal these apparent protection shortcomings for the former President.
Hawley wrote to Rowe that “you have of course publicly stated that the former President Trump receives ‘the highest levels of Secret Service Protection’ and that he is getting everything.”

Hawley continues to claim that the Service actively tries to hide pertinent information:
Hawley wrote to Cuffari that the new allegations of whistleblowers claim “Secret Service Headquarters blocked several auditors from accessing Trump campaign events”.
Hawley wrote: “The Secret Service whistleblower claims that the denial is to conceal the fact that former President Bush does not receive a consistent amount of protection assets for his various engagements.” “You should be aware of these accusations, which show that the Secret Service does not cooperate with your auditors but is painting a false image.”
BREAKING: A new whistleblower alleges that Secret Service STILL isn’t providing President Trump with full protection.
And they’re trying to conceal it from the government’s own auditors. What is going on here?? pic.twitter.com/L10XjhNEhW

Secret Service failures have been shocking, especially at the Butler, Pennsylvania, campaign rally where the gunman roamed for hours, and even flew an unmanned reconnaissance drone. Meanwhile, audience members had spotted him well in advance and were shouting about his location to the authorities. Incredibly, a rooftop where the former president could be seen was not guarded.
If Hawley’s whistleblower was right, the situation for this once-famous agency looks even worse. They were first exposed as being incompetent, and now it appears they are also covering up.
Takeaway: We need a new chief executive, someone who will control agencies such as these and insist on excellence and accountability. This person is not Kamala Harris.
