In the two weeks following Donald Trump’s re-election to the White House, the maxim “You don’t hate the media” has never been more true. The left, and the media that supports them, are unwilling to reflect on why they were overwhelmingly beaten at the polls.
Media reaction to the Laken Riley verdict is a good example.
If you haven’t followed the case closely, Laken R. Riley, a nursing school student in Athens Georgia, was brutally killed in February this year by Jose Ibarra. He is suspected to be a member of the violent Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua. Ibarra, who was sentenced to prison for life by Judge Patrick Haggard on Wednesday, was found guilty.

Riley’s brutal death at the hands of an illegal immigrant has garnered national attention. This is happening as the US is gripped by a full-blown migration crisis in which 12 million people are streaming across the border on the watch of the Biden-Harris Administration.
New York City sources confirmed that Ibarra arrived in Athens in September 2023 after a taxpayer-funded trip from Kennedy Airport, Queens, to Atlanta, Ga.
The flight, which occurred less than six months before he chased Riley as she ran, was paid out of federal funds through a Biden Administration program that offered one-way flights to migrants anywhere in the globe.
The media immediately tried to divert attention from the fact this crime was committed under the supervision of Kamala and Joe Biden. ABC News stepped up the partisan hackery game by insinuating Donald Trump was somehow responsible for Jose Ibarra’s presence in the country, and the murder of Laken Riley.

All the vitriol that we hear from Republicans and President-elect Trump about the Biden Administration’s policies regarding illegal immigration is important. It’s also important to remember that President Trump forced Republicans to sabotage a bipartisan bill on border security that both sides said would have essentially addressed immigration and border security issues.
This is a humdinger, but it’s clear that Donald Trump is responsible for Laken Riley’s murder. He was not the president at the time, and his strict border policies had been removed by Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and others.
This is irresponsible journalism at its finest. Ike doesn’t need to cover for Kamala anymore. She and Joe Biden gave a red carpet to violent criminals such as Jose Ibarra. They are solely responsible for the events that led a young woman to lose her life. The pain and heartbreak of her family will never end, but hopefully, this verdict can bring some closure and peace to them and other families who have fought for justice. Laken, we love you and will always have our hearts with you. It’s time to secure the border and remove criminals and thugs so that this kind of thing can never happen again.
The media will exploit any tragedy to gain political points for Democrats. Laken Riley, who was getting ready to spend Thanksgiving with her family, should have been here instead of Jose Ibarra.
