Bondi argues that the sanctuary policies have been a thorn in the side of this vital cooperation, creating a shelter for immigrants to ‘perpetrate crimes in our communities and evade the immigration consequences that federal law requires’.

On the same day that Bondi’s letter was sent, Governor Newsom announced his intentions to redistrict California, a move seen as a counter to Texas GOP legislators’ efforts to add five congressional seats for Republicans.
