Steve Krakauer (a journalist) and Brian Stelter (a former CNN host), argued Friday over the decision by Speaker of House Kevin McCarthy, to grant Tucker Carlson, cofounder of Daily Caller, and Fox News host thousands upon hours of Jan. 6 footage.
McCarthy gave Carlson access 41,000 hours of footage from the Jan. 6 Capitol Riot. Carlson said on-air, that his producers were reviewing the footage.
Stelter’s podcast, “The Fourth Watch”, featured Krakauer talking about his forthcoming book, “Uncovered: The Media Got Cozy with Power, Abandoned Its Principles, and Lost the People,” which discusses the Jan. 6 Capitol Riot.
Stelter asked Krakaeur his thoughts on McCarthy granting Carlson access.
Krakaeur said, “I think that it is fantastic. Krakaeur stated, “I think it is great. I wish everyone could get hold of them. ”
Stelter stated that, “But that is what they’re doing.” ”
Krakauer said that CNN had many exclusives on January 6 footage, but other news outlets had exclusives from January 6. CNN had many exclusives of January 6 footage, while other news outlets had exclusives about January 6 activity from January 6. I would prefer transparency. I think there are still questions about January 6.
Krakauer said that the media was too focused on the Trump riot.
It was a substitute for Trump. It is something I am still curious about and I hope -”
Stelter stated, “It’s because it’s never happened before and hopefully that won’t happen again.” It was a violent riot at power and should not have been allowed to happen.
Krakauer stated that the accused should face trial, but that it was impossible for the media to express “curiosity”.
