Facebook, Youtube TikTok Blocks Russian State Media

    According to reports, Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok have blocked Russian state media like Russia Today and Sputnik inside the EU.

    Business Insider reports that tech companies have taken action against Russian state media. Numerous platforms have blocked Russian media outlets from the EU, including YouTube, TikTok, and Facebook.

    Russia continues its invasion of Ukraine and Ursula von der Leyen (President of the European Commission) commented on the impact of Russian media. She said: “The state-owned Russia Today, Sputnik, along with their subsidiaries, will be unable to spread lies to justify Putin’s war. ”

    Facebook President of Global Policy Nick Clegg announced Monday that the company had received numerous requests from European Union governments to restrict Russian state media. ”

    Similar plans were announced by Google. It prevented Russian state media from creating YouTube and Google revenues.
