Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R. CA) and other Republican House Members will inspect the invasion at the Southern Border on Monday.

Fox News reported that the Republican delegation will travel to Eagle Pass in Texas and meet with U.S. Customs and Border Protection and Texas National Guard. When Title 42 expires next month, the inspection will be focused on the inbound migration of migrants crossings.

Reps. Elise Stefanik, Tony Gonzales, Randy Weber (R–TX), Michael Guest and Blake Moore (R–UT) are the members that will reportedly join McCarthy.

Over 221,300 illegal immigrants were illegally crossed the border between the U.S. and Mexico in March. According to the Republican National Committee’s research group, this number is a record for the Biden administration. It also marks the worst month since 2002 when the Department of Homeland Security was established. The March number was also the highest ever recorded.

The Biden administration has ended Title 42. This rule allowed authorities to turn off migrants to slow down the spread of coronavirus. More migrants are expected to increase dramatically.

Sensitive Democrats will feel the pressure from the Republicans’ visit at the border. Many of them have changed their position on the security of the southern border. Biden’s open-border policy is opposed by at least nine Democrats. However, not all of them oppose Biden’s open border policy. Sen. Maggie Hassan (D–NH) is one example.

Hassan, who was at the border last week and published a video in which he spoke about the need for security but did not mention Biden’s catch-and-release policy. This policy refers the administration’s policy to release migrants across the country while they wait for a court hearing, rather than detain them as required by law.
