Many people have stepped up to assist those affected by Hurricane Helene. It’s great that so many people are still in need. Some areas will have problems for some time, as they try to bring everything back online.
This is just a small list of the non-government organizations and people who have helped. Many people have helped, including many locals on the ground. We thank them all for their efforts.
Former President Donald Trump created a GoFundMe account to assist victims. Former Senator Kelly Loeffler contributed $500,000 and the fund has now raised nearly $6.5 million to help charities in the area. Some of the money has been distributed.
Dolly Parton, the incomparable, has donated $1,000,000 of her money. This has been matched by charities and other organizations that she is associated with, bringing the total up to $2,000,000. The money will be donated to the Mountain Ways Foundation to provide immediate assistance.

Elon Musk has delivered a large number of Starlink systems in the area to ensure that people can communicate and not be cut off. Ivanka Trump and the Love and Light Foundation were among those who helped with this delivery.
Many people and organizations are doing the work on the ground, such as the United Cajun Navy, Mercury One, and Samaritan’s Purse. Rep. Cory Mills, R-FL, has been on the ground for several days, helping with flights that are providing medicine and supplies, as well as welfare checks.
Quick Update: Day 3

There are also mules with their riders. Mules are the only way to get into some areas because the roads have been destroyed and are very remote.
Cajun Navy 2016 has partnered with Mountain Mule Packers to provide food, water, and medicine.
From Mountain Mule Packer Ranch:
“Here is a little bit of video showing why vehicles are not going to get through some of these areas. This was near Swannanoa, NC. Heavy equipment will definitely get this cleared, but in the meantime mules can carry gear through here quickly!… pic.twitter.com/cGAevQXEri
