A criminal supervisory IRS agent seeking protection as a whistleblower claims that the Biden administration is mishandling the investigation of Hunter Biden.

Mark D. Lytle, an attorney at the Washington-based Nixon Peabody LLP, informs the members of the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate in a letter dated April 19, 2023, that his client is overseeing “an ongoing and sensitive investigation of a controversial, high-profile subject since early 2020, and wishes to provide protected whistleblower disclosures.”

A source familiar with the investigation confirmed that Hunter Biden is the subject of the story.

Lytle wrote in a letter dated Wednesday that his client had already made disclosures to the IRS which were protected by law.

The Lytle states that the protected disclosures “contradicts sworn testimony given to Congress by an appointed senior politician.”

Lytle said that his client had information that the investigative team failed to mitigate a “clear conflict of interest.” He added that the investigator allowed politics and preferential treatment to influence decisions and protocols that would normally be followed by law-enforcement professionals when the subject did not have a political connection.

Lytle wrote in a letter: “My goal is that my client’s lawfully protected disclosures can be properly shared with congressional committees.” “I respectfully request your committees to work with me in order to facilitate the sharing of this information with Congress, legally and under fully-informed legal advice.”

The first son’s representatives did not respond immediately to any questions about the alleged mishandling of the investigation.

The president’s son has been under federal investigation since 2018, which is being led by Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss, a prosecutor appointed by former President Donald Trump.

In December 2020, we first reported that Hunter Biden had been the subject/target of a grand jury investigation. This was in part prompted by Suspicious Activity Reports regarding suspicious foreign transactions.

He was not charged with any crime.

According to Fox: James Comer, Chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability (R-Ky. ), said that attempts by the Biden administration to prevent efforts to charge Hunter is “deeply worrying”.

“The House Committee on Oversight and Accountability has been following the Bidens’ tangled web of complex corporate and financial records. It’s clear from our investigation that Hunter and other members of the Biden Family engaged in deceptive, shady business schemes to avoid scrutiny as they made millions from foreign adversaries like China,” he said. “We’ve been wondering all along where the heck the DOJ and the IRS have been. Now it appears the Biden Administration may have been working overtime to prevent the Bidens from facing consequences.”
