In June, First Lady Jill Biden will publish a new children’s book featuring Willow, White House cat.

The publisher announced on Tuesday that Paula Wiseman Books will publish Willow the White House Cat, an imprint under Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing.

Biden’s co-written book with Alyssa Capucilli, a bestselling author, and illustrated by Kate Berube is intended to give readers a “cat eye view” of the White House.

The First Lady stated:

The First Families, Joe and I, and everyone else who has stepped foot in this house have welcomed Willow with the same love and care. Willow’s journey, which includes making many new friends on the way gives the world an “eyes-on” view of America’s famous address.

Jon Anderson, President of Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing called the story a touching picture book that “young and older” readers will enjoy.

Biden’s previous works include ‘Don’t Forget: God Bless Our Troops’ and ‘Joey: the Story of Joe Biden’. Her 2019 memoir, ‘Where the Light Entries’ is also included.

Huffington Post reported that Willow leaped onto the stage when the first lady spoke during a campaign stop in Pennsylvania for 2020, which led to her adoption.

Her name is derived from the author’s hometown of Willow Grove in Pennsylvania.
