In an exclusive article in the Daily Mail on Saturday, it was revealed that Doug Emhoff’s wife, Kamala Harris, had an affair during his first marriage with a woman who worked as both a teacher and a nanny at the school where his children attended. The affair led to a pregnancy. Emhoff’s wife Kerstin discovered the affair and ended their marriage in May 2009.

DailyMail.com approached Najen Naylor at her home, in the millionaires’ playground of New York, The Hamptons, and she did not deny this story.
She did not say anything except that she was a little freaked out.
DailyMail.com was told by a close friend who had direct knowledge of Naylor’s affair and pregnancy that she did not keep the child, despite a video on her social media of a mysterious girl named Brook born in 2009.
Stacey Brooks also didn’t deny the allegations, but she said that she wouldn’t divulge any further information without Naylor’s permission.
Naylor lives and works in Hampton Bays on Long Island. The Daily Mail reported that Naylor had lost her job as a teacher at The Willows in Culver, where Cole Emhoff and Ella Emhoff attended.
According to one source, Emhoff and Naylor had reached a financial agreement. She also left her job at the school because of this hushed-up scandal.
The scandal that was not a secret to other parents of The Willows, but which pushed Naylor out, is unclear.
The mother of a child who attended the school before 2009 was not surprised by the scandal. She was disappointed in Emhoff but had nothing but praise for Naylor who taught her kids and looked after them during family vacations.
DailyMail.com reported that the mother who requested anonymity said, “She was an amazing person and a wonderful teacher for my children.”
DailyMail.com reported that a friend who was intimately familiar with the scandal confirmed Emhoff’s affair, but said Naylor didn’t keep the child.
The Daily Mail sources claim that Naylor didn’t keep the child, but it is not clear if they mean that Naylor aborted the baby or that it was born and given up for adoption. Daily Mail reporters searched Los Angeles birth certificates for 2008 and 2009. They were unable to find any records of a Brook Naylor or a child with the last name Emhoff born during that period. If Naylor had carried the pregnancy to term, it is not known if the baby would have come from Los Angeles County or somewhere else.
Emhoff’s Office did not respond to Daily Mail’s requests for comment. However, after the publication of the story, a CNN statement appeared to acknowledge the affair without mentioning the pregnancy or the fate of the child.
Kerstin and I had some difficult times during my first marriage because of my actions. I took responsibility and we have worked together as a family to overcome the challenges in the years that followed.
Kerstin Emhoff also released a statement.
“Doug and I decided to end our marriage for a variety of reasons, many years ago. He is a great father to our kids and continues to be a great friend to me and I am proud of the warm and supportive blended family Doug, Kamala, and I have built together.”
It is strange that Harris and Emhoff did not simply ignore the article and had their surrogates dismiss it, calling it a “gag rag” or blaming it on “MAGA crazies.” It’s not unusual for people to hide the truth when they know there’s more to a tale. They hope that by tacitly admitting to the affair but remaining silent about the child, the story will be branded as a horrible invasion of privacy.
Harris’ surrogates have already asked why it is important that Harris’ husband was having an affair before they met, and ignoring that Emhoff, as Naylor’s employer, held a position of authority over her, that the affair would be sexual harassment and that Naylor has lost her job because of the affair, possibly as a direct result of Doug or Kerstin Emhoff’s influence. These are the questions Team Kamala should be asking.
