It’s time for a little reality check for some folks from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela living here in the U.S.A. The Department of Homeland Security started sending out what I like to call ‘time’s up’ emails to hundreds of thousands of these people living on borrowed time here under the humanitarian parole program.
Since October 2022, about 532,000 folks from these countries have been given the golden ticket into America by the Biden administration. Two-year permits to live and work here, all at the expense of you, the American taxpayer. The DHS now says, “Party’s over.” Their temporary legal status and work permits, gone, just like that. They’re encouraged to pack up and split, with the help of some fancy mobile app and a sweet $1,000 on arrival back home. Details on how Uncle Sam plans to track them once they’re gone? Not a clue.

During his campaign, Trump promised to put an end to this “broad abuse” of humanitarian parole. We’re talking about a system that’s been used to give folks from war-torn or politically unstable countries a chance to live here temporarily. He also promised to deport the millions living here illegally and to cut off the legal pathways for immigrants to settle down and steal jobs from hardworking Americans like you. That’s right, folks, Trump’s taking a stand!
The decision to end this parole program was challenged in the courts. But the Supreme Court last month gave the green light for the Trump administration to revoke these temporary legal protections. Liberal do-gooders are crying foul, of course. But let’s be clear about this. We’re not talking about innocent victims here. These immigrants knew the score when they came here. They knew they were on borrowed time.
They’re not so much afraid of going back home, they’re afraid of losing the American dream – a dream they never earned. It’s time for them to wake up and smell the coffee – we’re not running a charity here. This is America, folks. It’s time we started looking after our own first.
