President Trump, a man who’s faced more scrutiny than any politician in modern history, has been dealt yet another blow in the kangaroo court of liberal justice. He couldn’t persuade the federal appeals court to reconsider the $5 million verdict that was handed to E. Jean Carroll. The jury thought it fit to believe he both abused and defamed this former magazine columnist.

The 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Manhattan decided it didn’t need a do-over of its Dec. 30 decision upholding the jury’s award. Carroll accused Trump of assaulting her in a Bergdorf Goodman department store dressing room back in 1996. She claims he defamed her in a 2022 post on Truth Social by calling her accusations a hoax.

In May 2023, the jurors decided that Trump had assaulted Carroll and lied about it. But even they didn’t buy into Carroll’s claim that Trump had raped her. Trump’s fight for reconsideration was based on the fact that the trial judge let jurors review that infamous 2005 ‘Access Hollywood’ tape and a ‘pile-on’ of other evidence aimed at painting him as a serial abuser.

Two other women have also claimed that Trump mistreated them. Jessica Leeds, a businesswoman, said Trump groped her on a plane back in the 1970s. And Natasha Stoynoff, a former People magazine writer, claimed Trump forcibly kissed her at Mar-a-Lago in 2005. Predictably, Trump has vehemently denied their accusations.

Trump is also appealing an $83.3 million jury verdict for defaming Carroll and damaging her reputation when he denied her claim about the Bergdorf incident. He’s arguing that the Supreme Court’s decision from last July, which provided him some criminal immunity, should shield him from Carroll’s civil case.

The left is more interested in character assassination than justice. Trump’s battles in court are a grim testament to this sad reality.
