Alyssa Farah-Griffin, co-host of “The View,” warned her cohosts they sounded like snowflakes when she criticized former President Mike Pence’s joke about Transport Secretary Pete Buttigieg.

At Saturday’s Gridiron Dinner, Pence joked about Buttigieg going on “maternity leave” after Chasten and he adopted twins in 2021. Co-hosts lamented the joke, accusing it of being insensitive and homophobic.

Griffin stated that Pence is a champion for paid family leave. Griffin also said that Griffin was concerned about the joke not landing. “But I want us all to be cautious, I don’t want us turning into the snowflakes we criticize, it’s a joke.

Whoopi Goldberg, co-host, interjected: “Hold up! Hold up!” “Those guys are snowflakes. But the point is that it’s a joke which was bad four times before. It was not funny for anyone, and it was terrible for him. Although he knows the right words, if you want to make jokes, you can pretend. Then we try to figure out what your doing.

She yelled, “The joke was terrible!” “The joke was terrible!”

Behar stated, “He needs to be a joker.”

Karine Jean-Pierre, White House press secretary, told The Washington Blade that the joke was offensive and homophobic. Marc Short, Pence’s spokesperson, stated Monday that the White House should “drop outrage” at the joke.

Pence was there with Democratic New Jersey Governor. Phil Murphy and Secretary Of State Antony Blinken made funny jokes to keep the dinner’s tradition.
