Border guard agents from California shot and killed an armed bandit who was robbing Mexican immigrants as they entered the U.S.

Several U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) sources confirmed on Sunday morning that a Border Patrol Officer from the Border Patrol Tactical Unit, BORTAC, shot and killed an illegal immigrant who had crossed the San Diego Sector.

The incident occurred in a remote region where bandits were seen robbing migrants before crossing into the U.S.A. and returning to Mexico.

Border Patrol agents responded Sunday morning to “bandit activities”. They came across a group of bandits robbing migrants while they were walking towards the area where migrants should surrender themselves for processing.

Border Patrol agents did not suffer any injuries during this encounter.

On February 26, 2024, the 26th U.S. Border Patrol Chief Jason Owens uploaded images of armed bandits on the social media platform X.

The chief stated that “USBP surveillance near Chula Vista CA captured these images showing armed thieves robbing multiple groups as they tried to enter the country unlawfully. These criminals, smugglers, and terrorists are a danger to the public as well as our agents.”

Owens stated last week that Border Patrol arrested over 890,000. Illegal aliens during the first six months of this fiscal. He said that more than 120,000 people had taken “getaways”.

Owens said on X, that gangs involved in murders and extortion also engaged in human trafficking, extortion, and weapons trade.

Owens wrote also that the Border Patrol had apprehended over 6,400 criminally convicted subjects in the fiscal year 2024.

Border Patrol agents in San Diego met migrants on the 17th of February 2019.

In fiscal 2024, the Border Patrol apprehended more than 21,000 Chinese citizens in San Diego Sector. This raised concerns about national security.

During Biden’s tenure, nearly 7.3 million illegal migrants crossed the Southwest border. That is more than 36 combined states.
