Tenacious D, a long-running comedy band led by Jack Black, had one of the worst reactions in the entertainment industry to the attempted assassination of President Trump. Jack Black’s performances have been canceled indefinitely after public outrage over his bandmate’s comments.

A video from Tenacious D’s Australian tour went viral over the weekend. Jack Black sang the traditional birthday song to his bandmate Kyle Gass during the concert. Jack Black told Gass to “Make a Wish” after someone brought him a birthday cake.

Kyle Gass made the horrifying remark: “Don’t forget Trump next time.”

These comments have sparked outrage not only among Trump supporters in America but also around the globe. Many are shocked by the political violence that has taken place in the United States where we should be able to speak freely and without fear about our politics.

The band is touring Australia and Australian Senator Ralph Babet has called for their deportation immediately. Babet issued a statement to the press saying “I condemn the call for political violence made by Tenacious D on Sunday in Sydney in the strongest way possible.” The conservative politician said, “To advocate or wish for assassination is egregious and disgusting. It’s filthy and evil and not acceptable.” He was serious, and he did not make a joke when he said he wanted to kill the President.

Babet continued, “I ask the Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, to join me and denounce Tenacious D, Jack Black, and band member Kyle Gass. I also call on Immigration Minister Andrew Gilles, to revoke the visas of these individuals and deport them as soon as possible.” “Anything less than deportation would be an endorsement of Donald J. Trump’s shooting and attempted murder, the 45th president and soon to be 47th president of the United States.”

Babet concluded that “Australia wrongly deported Novak Djokovic because he was alleged to have undermined the public’s trust in vaccination.” Tenacious D’s stay in Australia is unthinkable after they called for the death of a president. It shows the weakness of the current Australian Prime Minister.

Jack Black posted on Instagram within hours of the outrage, “I was blindsided” by the comments made at the Sunday show. I would never encourage hate speech or political violence of any kind. After much thought, I have decided that it is not appropriate for me to continue the Tenacious D Tour, and any future creative plans will be put on hold. “I am grateful for the fans’ support and understanding.”

Jack Black made an appearance at a Biden fundraising event earlier in the year. He claimed that “our democracy is at risk” while wearing a t-shirt with Joe Biden’s glowing eyes.

Black told the Hill in an earlier interview, “But so many issues are on the ballot for this election cycle.” The right of a woman to choose is also on the ballot. Environmental protection is on the ballot. Not to mention that democracy is also on the ballot. “There are so many divisions in the country at this time.” In the same interview, he described President Trump as a “threat that lurks in the background.”

Jack Black has no love for Donald Trump, but he seems to be unable to deal with the backlash. We don’t know if it was the Australian authorities who forced him to cancel Tenacious D’s shows following Kyle Gass’s horrifying remarks or if it was his convictions. Hollywood entertainment leaders must stop their dangerous rhetoric that encourages more political violence toward President Trump. Jack Black should back away from the country after such hateful comments made by his bandmate.
