For his part, Trump also made an ominous re-post of Graham’s appearance on Fox News, highlighting the message on his Truth Social platform. Since the release of the redacted affidavit on the Mar-a-Lago raid, Trump has also continued to rage about the search, calling the DOJ and FBI dishonest, and ranting about how the affidavit was heavily redacted to keep information regarding uncharged persons and the FBI’s sources and methods confidential.

The FBI searched Mar-a-Lago on August 8 as part of a Justice Department investigation into potential violations of laws related to the handling of government documents. The Justice Department said Trump brought sensitive and classified documents with him to Mar-a-Lago when he left office, according to court records.

Trump has denied wrongdoing and said he had declassified the documents.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), warned Sunday of “riots on the streets” if President Trump is charged with handling classified materials discovered by the FBI during a search of his Mar-a-Lago residence.

Graham said to Trey Gowdy, a former South Carolina congressman, “If Donald Trump is charged with mishandling classified data, there will be riots in the streets.”

Trump shared a clip from the interview with Truth Social on Sunday evening.

Gowdy served as chairman of the House Select Committee on Benghazi. This committee investigated the 2012 terrorist attacks in Libya, which left four Americans dead. It also discovered a Clinton-owned email server.

Graham expressed concern at Trump’s treatment and warned of riots in relation to the Georgia special grand jury investigating Trump and his aides’ attempts to reverse the 2020 election results.

Graham was subpoenaed as a result of phone calls to Georgia election officials requesting to alter the election results.

On Sunday, the senator from South Carolina also spoke out about claims that Hunter Biden’s laptop investigation was stopped by the FBI to avoid making headlines in advance of 2020.

“Most Republicans, including myself, believe that there is no law when it comes to Trump”. Graham stated that it’s all about getting Trump.

He said, “I’ve never been so worried about politics and the law as I am now.”
