Sources confirmed on Friday morning that Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene had filed a motion for her to leave the Speaker’s Chair.
The motion was made after the House planned to vote on a government financing bill, which has left many conservatives disappointed. It’s not clear if the motion is going to pass. Speculations suggest that it was a move to remove Speaker Mike Johnson from his position. Johnson has been caught between conservatives and moderate Republicans on issues such as foreign aid to Ukraine, and the security of the southern border.
Here are screenshots of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene R-GA filing something with the clerk, obscured a bit by the on-screen vote graphics. She then went to talk to Rep. Thomas Massie R-KY back by the Freedom Caucus group. Motion to vacate? Something else? Stay tuned. https://t.co/4BAXy5oUtI pic.twitter.com/vYlzojSJWa
