Mace asks Stephanopoulos how she can endorse Trump after hearing testimony about her rape

Nancy Mace takes George Stephanopoulos to task in a heated exchange about Trump’s support: “Trying to shame me”

Rep. Nancy Mace claimed ABC’s George Stephanopoulos was trying to “shame her” for endorsing former President Trump during a heated Sunday interview.

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) accused ABC’s George Stephanopoulos of trying to “shame her” for endorsing former President Trump during a heated interview on Sunday.

After playing an old clip in which Mace discussed being a victim of rape, Stephanopoulos told Mace that she had endorsed Donald Trump as president.

The anchor said, “Judges have found him guilty of rape as well as defaming his victim.” How do you reconcile your support for Donald Trump with what we have just seen?

Rep. Nancy Mace claimed ABC’s George Stephanopoulos was trying to “shame her” for endorsing former President Trump during a heated interview on Sunday.

Mace replied, “I will tell you that I was raped when I was 16 years old.” “Any rape survivor will tell you that I have lived with an immense amount of shame since being raped for the past 30 years.” “I didn’t speak up because I felt shame and judgment.”

She addressed the anchor directly, saying, “It is a shame you will never experience it, George.”

Mace replied: “I won’t sit here and answer a question on your show that is meant to humiliate me over another possible rape victim.” “I won’t do that.”

Stephanopoulos said that the question he asked was not meant to shame him, but rather about the allegations made against Trump by E. Jean Carroll. Carroll, a former New York Times columnist, claims that Trump raped in her dressing room at a department store in New York City in the 1990s.

It’s not criminal court, No. Mace replied, “1”. “No. “No. You’re asking about my political choices to shame me for being a rape survivor and I find that disgusting.

Mace added, “Quite frankly, E. Jean Carroll’s comments, when she received the verdict, joking about what her plan was to purchase, makes it more difficult for women to come out when they mock rape. They joke about it. “It’s not okay.”

Mace’s comment about Carroll’s remarks was “She’s joking about it.” “I find that offensive and I find it offensive too that you’re trying to shame me by asking this question.”

Carroll joked on the “Rachel Maddow Show” that she would go shopping with money from her Trump case.

“Yes, Rachel! Yes!” Carroll responded enthusiastically. “I have so many great ideas about what I will do with the money.”

Rachel: “First, we’re going shopping!” She exclaimed. Rachel asked, “What do you want?” A penthouse, perhaps? It’s yours, Rachel! Penthouse or France? Do you want France? Do you want to fish in France? No?”

Trump plans to appeal the January decision which found him liable for making defamatory remarks while denying Carroll’s rape allegations.

Last year, a federal jury in New York City ruled that Trump wasn’t liable for rape. However, he was found liable for sexual assault and defamation.
