Trainwreck Interview: Kamala Harris Dodges Questions, Stephanie Ruhle Calls Her Out

Stephanie Ruhle, who appeared Friday on Bill Maher’s “Real Time” show, said that it was absurd to expect or demand answers from Kamala Harris about the issues since she is running against Donald Trump, the former president. It was absurd for someone who called herself a journalist to argue against questioning a presidential candidate just because she backed her.

It’s perhaps not surprising then that Harris, who has done very few interviews, gave Ruhle an interview. Harris was sure that Ruhle’s comments would allow her to have a “softball” interview. She was confident that she would not be pressed by Ruhle, given his comments.

Harris was utterly vacuous, even when she had a softball reporter who supported her. She didn’t understand what she said about tariffs, or anything else.

She said Trump was not serious when he said that you need to have a plan, which is absurd given that she refuses to explain what she plans to do. What the hell is she talking about? She doesn’t even know what tariffs are and can’t explain to us why she and Biden kept them – if they were bad.

Harris doesn’t appear to care or understand the negative impact of her actions on the economy. So, talking about Trump’s booming economy with low inflation pre-pandemic is all projection. She seems to believe that we should anoint Harris without her having any plans.

Ruhle asks an excellent question: What happens when you don’t succeed in getting what you want, which is likely to happen if Republicans win the Senate? Harris refuses to answer the question and says, “Well, we’re going have to do it.” Look at the blank expression on Harris’s face.

She doesn’t have any answers. All she says is that the corporations and billionaires will “pay their fair shares.”

This “fair share” nonsense, which is not based in reality, is a class warfare mantra that the left uses to justify its desire to continue taking more money from people.

If she wants to stop Trump’s tax cut that has helped the majority of Americans, she will also be increasing taxes for regular Americans.

Third, she does not seem to understand the fact that raising taxes for corporations will result in them increasing taxes on goods or laying off workers. She’ll do more harm to the economy by stifling growth and raising taxes on goods.

Ruhle presses Harris: “How are you going make them pay without making them leave the country?” Harris does not answer the question. Check out her expression as Ruhle tells Nicolle about it.

Ruhle acknowledges that she hasn’t answered the question.

Kamala confesses that home ownership has become a distant dream.

It’s true. But a large part of it was due to inflation and higher interest rates during your tenure and Joe Biden. This has made people unable to afford a home. She acts as if she is a change agent to solve a problem that she created.

Ruhle wants to know what you tell people who don’t believe in your “policies”. What policies? Harris lets loose a word salad that is unmatched.

She continued, “If you are… hardworking… if… you… have… um… the dreams, the ambitions, and the aspirations that I believe you have, you’re part of my plan.” Then she talked about “the spirit and character of American people.”

I do believe in the character and spirit of the American people. But what about you? What are your plans and your character and spirit? Talking about your joy or aspirations, or repeating the question is not a good plan, and it’s certainly not a reason to vote for you. Her answers at this point are insulting to our intelligence. She wants middle-class people to “get ahead”, but that’s not what she and Joe Biden have done.

At least she has learned the word “holistically”

How did she handle the fact that the Teamsters had not endorsed her? It was the first time in decades that a Democrat did not receive the Teamsters’ endorsement. Online and phone polls showed that the majority of voters supported Trump. Kamala again failed to answer the question.

She’d have to say that the workers are suffering because of a bad economy and a border. She does not want to admit it, so she blathers.

Ruhle asked about the McDonald’s controversy – she claimed she worked for McDonald’s, but there’s been no proof of it. Harris then bursts into laughter and says that she was right, that she had “done fries.”

How could anyone possibly take this person seriously?

Ruhle concluded by telling Chris Hayes it was “okay” that Harris did not answer the questions because they were “not talking about direct or clear issues.”

Are you kidding? Harris has the seriousness and fervor of a fruit-cup. This is the highest elected position in America. She’s cackling at us when we deserve to know the truth. This is ridiculous and she should be dismissed outright.
