Donald Trump, the president-elect, reportedly told Justin Trudeau, the Canadian Prime Minister, that if tariffs threaten to bring his country’s economic system to a halt, then Canada “should be made into the 51st State.”

Fox News White House Correspondent Peter Doocy reported the news after speaking with two present people at the table when Trudeau visited Trump’s Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida to discuss the proposal.

Trump announced last week a 25% tariff on all imports coming from Canada and Mexico. He cited the problem of illegal immigration as well as the humanitarian crisis caused by the influx of fentanyl to the United States.

He wrote: “On January 20, as one of many Executive Orders I will sign, I’ll charge Mexico and Canada 25% tariffs on ALL products entering the United States and its ridiculous Open Borders,” on Truth Social.

This Tariff will be in place until all illegal aliens and drugs, including Fentanyl, stop invading our country! Mexico and Canada both have the right and the power to solve this long-simmering issue.”

Trudeau sat down with Trump and gave him his views on tariffs.

The Canadian PM stated that “our responsibility is to highlight the fact that he wouldn’t just harm Canadians who work well with the United States but would also raise prices for American citizens and hurt American industry and businesses.”

Trudeau had intended to tell Trump what he thought, but the President-elect smacked him in the face instead.

Doocy told Fox anchor Bret Baier, “We’re going to get some new details tonight about the Trump-Trudeau Dinner from two people at the table.”

Doocy said that Trump joked with Trudeau that if Canada couldn’t survive without ripping the US off to the tune of $100 billion per year, it might be time to make Canada the 51st State and Trudeau its governor.

Baby, we are back! We are back, baby! What a savage!

Baier could not contain his laughter when Doocy returned the ball to him. Who could blame him? This is pure comedy gold.

It’s not the first time Trump used Trudeau to punch himself. In 2018, the Canadian PM attempted to overshadow then-President Trump during the signing of a trade agreement with Mexico.

Trump retaliated by signing the agreement with a large pen to outdo the other signatories.

The Daily Mail reported at the time that Trump signed his copy with “his large Sharpie pen dwarfing his regular pen used by North American counterparts”.

You could therefore see Donald’s autograph from about three miles.

Trump claimed earlier this year that Trudeau was the son of Fidel Castro, former Cuban President.

“They say that he is the son of Fidel Cuba and could be.” “Anything is possible in this universe,” he said.

Anything is indeed possible. Canada can become the 51st State.
