President Donald Trump has done it again. He’s taken a monumental stand for history, for tradition, and our revered military.

Trump declared that he has ordered the Pentagon to restore the historical names of seven Army bases. Names that were tossed aside, disrespected, and replaced by the Biden administration in an attempt to rewrite history. The original names honored Confederate generals, part of our nation’s complex but indisputable past.

This isn’t just any random change. No, it’s a fulfillment of a campaign promise that Trump made to revert nine bases to their original names. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, a stalwart conservative, already restored two of those – Fort Bragg and Fort Benning.

Fort Bragg, originally named after Confederate Gen. Braxton Bragg, was renamed after Private First Class Roland Bragg, who served in World War II. Similarly, Fort Benning was renamed to honor World War I hero Cpl. Fred G. Benning, not Confederate Lt. Gen. Henry Benning.

The renaming took place in 2023, during the rule of Biden and his army of woke warriors, who thought changing the names of bases named after generals from the slave states was a good idea. This was a classic example of the left’s cancel culture – erasing history instead of learning from it.

The left’s attempts to rewrite history are, quite frankly, demonstrably absurd. I’m not suggesting we ignore the flaws in our history, but we shouldn’t try to hide them either.

Changing back the names might take months. But, it’ll be worth it. As Trump himself said, ‘We won a lot of battles out of those forts. It’s no time to change. And I’m superstitious, you know, I like to keep it going, right? I’m very superstitious.’ Well, Mr. President, in the arena of ideas, conservatives win. And you, sir, are leading the charge.
