In June we reported that former president Donald Trump was indicted on charges of allegedly holding classified documents while he served as President. Jack Smith, Special Counsel for the investigation, denied the 37-count charges. My colleague previously reported that Trump’s lawyers had met with Jack Smith to prepare a new indictment.

Fox News exclusive reports that Trump now faces three additional charges.

Trump, the GOP front-runner in 2024, has been indicted on Thursday for two new counts, one of obstruction, and another of willful retention. This indictment is part of “superseding” one that was based on Special Counsel Jack Smith’s investigation into Trump’s alleged improper storage and handling of classified documents.

Trump spoke to Fox News Digital about the latest charges filed by the DOJ. He called it “election interference at the highest level” and “prosecutorial misconduct “:

It is election interference at its highest level. They harassed my family and my company and harassed me ….. They know better than anyone that the charges are absurd.

This would never happen if I didn’t have a lead over Biden in polls, and I wasn’t the Republican candidate. That wouldn’t be possible.

But I am way up as a Republican and way up in the general election and this is what you get.

He continued, saying, “Our country is suffering from DOJ abuse,” adding that, “Hopefully the Republican Party will do something about it.”

It was reported on Thursday morning that the Special Counsel has charged Carlos De Oliveira who is the director of maintenance at Mar-a-Lago with the case concerning classified documents.

As soon as the updates become available, we will let you know.
